Sustainability isn't a marketing line at Midori — it's a set of specific choices we make about fabric, production, and packaging. Here's exactly what that means, without the vague claims.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified Fabric

Every Midori swim fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, an independent certification that tests every component of a textile against a list of more than 1,000 substances known to be harmful to health. The certification isn't a one-time stamp — it's tested and renewed annually, so it reflects what's actually in the fabric you're wearing today, not just what was true when the brand launched.

Eco-Friendly 4-Way Stretch Fabric

Our swim fabric is engineered to stretch and recover its shape in every direction, which means suits hold up to repeated wear, sun, chlorine, and salt water instead of breaking down and needing to be replaced every season. Fabric that actually lasts is one of the simplest forms of sustainability there is — fewer suits ending up in landfill because they stretched out after a summer.

Built-In UPF 50+ Sun Protection

Every piece carries UPF 50+ sun protection built into the fabric itself, blocking the vast majority of UV rays that reach your skin. It's not a separate treatment that washes out — it's part of how the fabric is made.

Small-Batch Production

Midori swimwear is made in small batches rather than mass-produced in bulk. That means less overproduction, less excess inventory, and less waste sitting in a warehouse or, worse, in a landfill.

Recycled Shipping Packaging

Orders ship in recycled packaging, so the sustainability commitment doesn't stop at the fabric — it carries through to how your order actually arrives.

What We're Still Working On

We're not going to pretend we've solved sustainability. We don't currently use recycled or regenerated fibers (like recycled nylon or ECONYL®) in our fabric, and we're actively looking at how to responsibly incorporate that in future collections. This page will get updated as that changes — we'd rather tell you where we actually stand than round up.
